We often remember to apply sunscreen before leaving the house. But sunscreen is not a complete shield against every source of sun exposure, especially during long periods under strong UV conditions.
The cheekbone area is particularly easy to overlook. It is exposed, naturally raised, and often receives extra attention from makeup application.
At Skinalis, this made us think about a simple question: Could a face mask be designed to provide more thoughtful coverage while still feeling soft, breathable, and comfortable?
What makes the Skinalis silk mask different is the combination of thoughtful cheekbone coverage, 100% mulberry silk, and practical details designed for everyday comfort.
The Detail Many People Miss
Why Cheekbone Coverage Matters
The upper cheek and cheekbone area can receive direct sunlight even when the rest of the face appears covered or protected.
There is also another everyday factor. Many people apply blush or other makeup across the cheeks. Repeated brushing, blending, and touching may disturb the sunscreen layer in that area, making consistent sun protection more difficult.
This does not mean every dark spot or pigmentation mark comes from one cause. However, repeated UV exposure can contribute to visible pigmentation and uneven-looking skin over time. That is why we wanted to consider coverage from a different angle.
Designed With Intention
A Shape Designed With Intention
Many face masks follow a simple horizontal shape. We wanted to think about the areas beside the nose and across the upper cheeks.
The upper sides of the Skinalis mask extend outward slightly. From the front, this creates a gentle V-shaped structure that is designed to sit closer to the cheekbone area.
The extended upper sides are designed to provide thoughtful coverage around the upper cheek area.
The mask is intended to add physical coverage. It does not replace sunscreen, shade, protective clothing, or other sun-safety measures.

Why 100% Mulberry Silk?
Why We Chose 100% Mulberry Silk
The material matters when something rests against your face for hours.
Silk has a smooth fibre surface and is generally associated with a softer, lower-friction feel than many rougher textile materials. This may make it more comfortable for people who are sensitive to rubbing or fabric texture.
Research on silk face-covering materials has also examined breathability, moisture behaviour, and thermal comfort. Findings suggest that silk can offer useful moisture and comfort properties, although the result depends on the fabric construction and the complete mask design.

We chose 100% mulberry silk because we wanted the mask to feel gentle, lightweight, and considered, not simply functional.
Details That Make Everyday Wear Easier
Front Breathing Opening
The opening at the front is designed to make drinking and breathing feel easier without needing to remove the mask every time.
Adjustable Ear Loops
Slide and adjust the loops to suit your face shape. No tying knots, no unnecessary pressure, and no one-size-fits-all assumption.
Reusable Silk Material
With proper care, the silk can remain soft through repeated washing. Gentle handling helps preserve the fabric’s quality and shape.
Protective Storage Bag
Keep the mask in its storage bag between uses to help reduce contact with dust and other surfaces.
Care Guide
How to Care for Your Silk Mask
Silk is delicate compared with many everyday fabrics. The right care routine can help maintain its softness, shape, and appearance for longer.
Wash Regularly
Wash the mask after each day of use, or sooner if it becomes damp, sweaty, or visibly dirty.
Hand Wash Gently
Use cool or lukewarm water and a small amount of mild detergent suitable for silk. Avoid bleach, harsh detergents, and strong stain removers.
Do Not Twist or Wring
Gently press out excess water with a clean towel. Twisting or wringing can stretch the silk and affect the mask’s shape.
Air Dry Naturally
Lay the mask flat or hang it carefully in a shaded, well-ventilated place. Keep it away from direct strong sunlight, high heat, and tumble dryers.
Store It Properly
Make sure the mask is completely dry before placing it inside the provided storage bag. Avoid storing it while damp.
